The RedBird-owned AC Milan will continue their tour in the United States for a few more days. The only remaining fixture for the team of Stefano Pioli is the one against FC Barcelona in Las Vegas before they return to Italy.
Peppe Di Stefano, the Sky Sport Italia reporter, has been following the team during the tour in the United States of America. Here are his words yesterday as he spoke about the club's project while he gained exclusive access to RedBird's headquarter in Los Angeles:
"It has been a very long 10 days for Milan here in Los Angeles. Training, commercial events, interviews, and, above all, matches. But what truly elevates the presence and the Rossoneri experience is the context. California, with respect and great passion, has embraced the world of Milan, the world of Gerry Cardinale, a son of this land. A few days ago, he celebrated his Milan here with a private party and now, with an innovative strategy for our country, perhaps initially not easy to grasp, he aims to raise Milan's status on and off the field, financially and commercially. RedBird Capital Partners, a company founded almost 10 years ago by the owner of Milan, has opened its doors to us, granting Sky Sport exclusive access to their Los Angeles headquarters, offering a closer look at the Milan brand with red stripes."
Peppe Di Stefano continued to speak about RedBird and AC Milan:
"On the seventh floor of one of the most beautiful buildings in Beverly Hills lies RedBird's California home, an investment management company founded by Gerry Cardinale, which now evokes much of the new Milan. It is here that connections between the world of finance and entertainment are born. Yes, because it is in this reality that Cardinale declares his focus on investing in high-growth businesses, recognizing the commitment to create synergies between the worlds of sports, media, entertainment, and culture. This is the essence of the new Rossoneri philosophy - to spectacularize the Milan brand on and off the field through initiatives, ownership of stadiums, brand enhancement, and involvement of entertainment celebrities. This is indeed one of Cardinale's strengths, as his assets include companies directly linked to LeBron James, for instance."
On AC Milan's new stadium plan...
"The strategy of the new Milan must align with the established mentality in the States, which emphasizes the aesthetic sense of efficiency - in other words, creating the new Milan. Not only focused on business, but also paying attention to aesthetics through targeted transfer campaigns and the construction of a stadium that can become the comet star of the Rossoneri world. It requires a different mindset, one that is less conservative and more aggressive, less European and more intercontinental, less tied to individual results and more focused on a brand that soars high. The stadium becomes a hub to be experienced throughout the week, before and after matches, much like it happens in the United States, where sporting events become a pretext to build events that captivate and draw supporters' attention. The strategy is clear and, in recent months, more relevant than ever. Now, after an almost Hollywood-style revolution and a daring transfer market, it's time for the on-field test of the new Milan, branded by Gerry Cardinale."
