AC Milan's transfer market was the topic of discussion today for the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport in this morning's print edition. Among the players who arrived, we are reminded by the need to make some exits. The next player to leave is Charles De Ketelaere who is off to Atalanta.
According to the source, the Belgian player's medicals with Atalanta are scheduled for tomorrow. From this deal, the Rossoneri would gain 3 million euros as a loan fee. As for the salary, it will be covered by Atalanta fully for the season of 2023-2024. Then, Atalanta will have the option to buy De Ketelaere's contract, and it can be exercised possibly in the summer of 2024, for 26 million euros.
If he were to be signed permanently, AC Milan could earn an additional 4 million euros in terms of bonuses from the sale of Charles De Ketelaere. Furthermore, the Rossoneri club has reserved 10% of a potential future resale of the former Club Brugge player's contract from Atalanta to another club. Having been bought for 35.5 million euros a year ago, De Ketelaere could now yield an important fee for the Rossoneri in the future: well over 30 million euros.
