AC Milan will continue to try for Mehdi Taremi until the end. Negotiations are not easy, but the Rossoneri managers do not intend to give up.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italians are very keen on seeing Mehdi Taremi put on the Rossoneri shirt. The summer transfer window closes this Friday, but the Portuguese club are still resisting and continue to ask for a high fee to let their star, whose contract expire next year, leave.

At Casa Milan, the club is well aware that it's a very complicated mission. But, they want to satisfy the requests of head coach Stefano Pioli who asked for a new forward capable of alternating with Olivier Giroud. While an agreement between Taremi and Milan could be reached quickly, the main issue is finding common ground with Porto, who continues to ask for 20 million euros despite the Iranian player's contract expiring in a year and his lack of intention to extend it (even coach Conceição is pushing not to let him leave).

Today, the two clubs will have new contacts again to understand if there is room to reach an agreement in the next few hours or couple of days. AC Milan are not willing to go above 15 million euros while Porto are not budging from their 20 million euros demand. The difference, therefore, is 5 million euros.

If this deal were not to go through, Milan would not pursue any other striker (there has been frequent talk, for example, of Hugo Ekitike from PSG, but his salary demands are too high and therefore he is becoming more distant), but they would confirm Lorenzo Colombo.
