At the San Siro this afternoon, AC Milan will play against Hellas Verona. Stefano Pioli aims to win, but it seems that he wants to do that with a new formation.
The gaffer has reportedly been working on a 3-4-3 formation, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and he will ive rest to both Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez. The three-man defence will be composed of the "usual" Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori, joined by Simon Kjaer. On the flanks, there will be Yunus Musah (to the right) and Alessandro Florenzi on the left.
In midfield, there will be space for Rade Krunic and Tijjani Reijnders, with the latter returning to the starting lineup after coming off the bench in Tuesday's Champions League match against Newcastle.
In attack, however, there will be no changes. On the right, there will be Christian Pulisic while in the centre-forward position, Olivier Giroud may start again. On the left flank, Rafael Leao will be there as usual.
Despite having signed Noah Okafor and Luka Jovic, the coach still wants to deploy Olivier Giroud which is a sign that the Swiss and Serbian are not yet at a top physical condition which convinces the coach.
