This is the third, and final, part of our very own series of  the “AC Milan Women’s team in focus” articles and this time we are going to concentrate on who are the rossonere favorites, and the not-so-dearly-remembered, adversaries.

Please note that all the data here are updated until this season’s Serie A matchday 13 and Coppa Italia quarterfinal second-leg.

Hello again!

Up to now, AC Milan Women’s team have played 62 matches in all competitions (Serie A, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana). Sassuolo (8) is the team Milan have faced the most, followed by Juventus (6) and Fiorentina (6).

Favorites opponents

Oh, the sweet taste of victory. The rossonere have won 5 out of the 8 times they faced Sassuolo, but the interesting fact here is that all the times they faced Internazionale (5), Roma (5), Orobica (5), Pink Bari (4), Tavagnacco (4) and Hellas Verona (4), the outcome was exactly the same, a AC Milan Women’s team victory.

Target practicing

As we said in the second part or this special, Milan like to score, and a lot. Considering all 3 seasons since the creation of the team, Pink Bari are their favorite victims, bagging 23 times against them, followed by Internazionale (18) and Sassuolo (15).

Average goals per game

Once again, Pink Bari tops this section with the highest average goals per game from Milan (5,75), while San Marino Academy (4,5) and Internazionale (3,6) complete the podium here.

Goal difference

Poor Pink Bari: the AC Milan Women’s team love to crush them and the 19 positive goal difference against them do not let any doubt. They are followed by Internazionale and Orobica, both with a 11 positive goal differences for the diavolesse.

Teams we like the least

On the other hand, Juventus and Fiorentina were the ones that inflicted the most defeats to Milan (3), followed by Florentia, Chievo Verona and Empoli, all of them with 1 win over the diavolesse.

Conceding goals

This is our least favorite part of the game, when the goalie looks over at the ball in his net and Fiorentina tops the podium with 11 goals to their names against Milan, in front of Juventus (8) and Internazionale (7).

Toughest defenses

Milan have always had a hard time to score against them it is no brainer that Fiorentina (-4) and Juventus (-1) are the opponents the rossonere have their lowest goal difference so far.

Home or Away games makes little difference.

There is almost no difference to the performances of the AC Milan Women’s team whether they are playing home or away games. At home (Vismara Sports Center or Brianteo Stadium), they have won 22 of their 30 games, suffering 5 defeats, scoring 72 goals and conceding 27, while playing away fixtures, there has been 31 games, 21 wins, 4 defeats, 70 goals scored and 28 conceded.

Conclusion

Bottom line here is: We really don't like to face Juventus or Fiorentina, we LOVE Pink Bari and Milan have a mixed feelings about Internazionale, as the rossonere always beat them, but somehow the nerazzurre consistently score against us.
