In the occasion of the derby clash today, AC Milan's belgian winger Alexis Saelemaekers gave an interview to Tuttosport. Here are his words:
On his play style and always running:
"I feel that I always need to run, especially when I play for a great team like AC Milan. To be worthy of being with so many champions, I must always run and sacrifice myself for the team."
On the team facing difficulties in the recent weeks:
"We didn't look at the standings when we were first, and we don't do it now that we are second. Meanwhile, because every Sunday can change something and then because as Pioli says, 'the ranking must be looked at in May.' Looking at the ranking before May is useless. Making calculations does not belong to our mentality. We will play in the same way as if we were the leaders of the league."
On the difference between Milan and Inter:
"I think they have some great players, several ones. But we are more of a team, more collective. We are a real family and this, on the pitch, can make the difference. We will face Inter without any fear. As I said before, I am sure that our group is stronger than their individualities."
On the defeat against Spezia:
"We all had an analysis of the match. I think it was simply a day, to be put behind us as quickly as possible. We don't feel tired. We have always worked hard, not only in the week before that game."
On the decisive phase of this season:
"Certainly the season is getting to the heart of it, but we don't have to think about the other teams. We only think of ourselves in order to do well and stay at the top of the ranking."
