AC Milan are hoping to enter the international break with a win against Lecce away from home. After a great victory against Paris Saint-Germain, the fans are eager to see their team play again and continue on the winning path.
La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper in this morning's print edition, however, emphasise that Stefano Pioli's team will not and cannot replicate the same high-level performance showcased against Paris Saint-Germain. That is because the context is different: the opponents are different, the competition is different, (even the stadium is different), the motivations of the players are not the same as when they face Mbappé's teammates. There are many different factors.
The desire to win is there - Milan, no more mistakes to stay in the top positions...
What can remain unchanged, however, is the desire to win. The Rossoneri team, actually, cannot afford to make mistakes again in the league. The club must not allow any further gaps between itself and Juventus and Inter in the league ranking.
