AC Milan are looking to reinforce the midfield department in the future and have identified a profile in the Premier League to do so.
According to reports from Sun (relayed via Pianeta Milan) for some time now, AC Milan has reportedly considered Kalvin Phillips, a 27-year-old English midfielder of Jamaican origin, for the defensive midfield role that combines quantity and quality.
Phillips is currently a secondary player in Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. The Catalan manager, in these days, during a press conference, has opened up to his possible transfer, and the Rossoneri are keeping a close eye on him. Of course, the operation is not expected to be easy.
AC Milan and Juventus are both keen on him. Both clubs would like to sign him on loan with an option to buy.
On the other hand, other clubs like Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Newcastle would like to sign him on a permanent transfer move.
If Kalvin Phillips chooses Serie A, however, AC Milan would be more favoured over Juventus, offering him a guaranteed starting position and the Champions League stage. This is assuming that the Rossoneri advances to the knockout stages in mid-December.
