According to the latest news reported by those at the Italy-based news website, Milan News, it seems that Rafael Leao did not travel to Bergamo with the rest of the team to face Gian Piero Gasperini's Atalanta.
It's a precautionary decision by the AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli, driven by the fact that he had only participated in partial group training sessions, skipping the technical-tactical part, and also to allow him a few more days to be at a 100% fitness level.
The reality is that if Leao had been called up, he would have only been available on the bench, and Pioli wouldn't have risked him during the game.
The player is clinically recovered, but he will aim for a starting position in Wednesday night's match against Newcastle.
In the attack, alongside Olivier Giroud, there will be Chukwueze on the right, Loftus-Cheek as an attacking midfielder, and Pulisic on the left.
