Italian journalist Paolo Condo wrote an interesting piece for the daily newspaper La Repubblica.
Here are his words:
"The sixth round is dramatic for Milan who are in an unlucky position: holding onto the dream of staying in the Champions League, the concrete possibility of dropping into the Europa League remains where they could attempt to win that competition. However, they need to defeat Newcastle at their home ground, and the second half in Bergamo doesn’t offer any certainties. There are no guarantees about what would happen without European football from now until June: theoretically, Milan would be in a situation similar to Juventus, but in practice—aside from the points disadvantage—they would lack the team unity that Allegri has managed to rebuild."
The journalist continued to talk about AC Milan's difficult situation:
"A note on Cardinale's communication: if you hint at Ibrahimovic's imminent hiring for two months, only to delay it day by day, it raises suspicion that someone within Milan is resisting. The race for third (perhaps), fourth (certain), and (maybe) fifth place will be a major topic in the spring, but today, the train of contenders is already heavily crowded. Third perhaps because Milan still enjoys a certain margin, maybe fifth because the UEFA ranking could add another Italian team to the next Champions League."
