Stefano Pioli, the Rossoneri coach, spoke to 'Milan TV' after the Milan - Monza match of the 16th round of the 2023-2024 Serie A season held at 'San Siro' stadium.

Here are his statements.

"I've discovered in my players a willingness and technical-tactical adaptability that allow me to explore various approaches. Pobega's substitution made us change positions, then we changed them again. When there's this desire to win a game, it's never a problem of positions. We played good football, winning against a team that plays well."

Pioli added:

"There are beautiful stories, certainly. I'm harvesting the groundwork laid down by the club, the youth sector. Talented youngsters with the right attitude towards work are coming through. Congratulations to those working, to the boys. We shouldn't burden them with expectations; they need to keep growing. They are youngsters already within the group and respected by their teammates."

Pioli continued:

"I have no doubts about the team's potential. That's why I keep telling my players that we need to focus on ourselves. It's a team with potential. The club has worked well. Unfortunately, we've faced difficulties due to our own faults, injuries, because that's how football goes. In the Champions League, we came close to achieving something significant, but we didn't, yet that shouldn't make us lose faith in our qualities. We need to play game by game, thinking as if it's the last one, where we must demonstrate all our qualities."

Pioli commented once more on the victory:

"That's what we aim to do. When we play while enjoying ourselves and in a carefree manner, we perform better. There have been moments when it's difficult to be light-hearted and carefree; we have many expectations about our work and results. Today, I liked everything about the team, a positive performance. Not easy after Wednesday and against an opponent that plays good football: all positive signs."
