Stefano Pioli took over the reins of AC Milan on October 9, 2019, replacing the dismissed Marco Giampaolo. Since that day, he has managed the team for 211 matches, securing the fourth position in the special ranking of coaches who have led the Rossoneri for the most games.
At the top of this list is Carlo Ancelotti with 420 matches, followed by Capello with 249 and Rocco with 222.
AC Milan's current coach, Pioli, aims to reach the record of Nereo Rocco who is third in this special ranking. It would certainly be a huge milestone which can be reached
either in the Europa League playoff return match against Rennes if Milan gets eliminated in the Round of 16 in the Coppa Italia, or a few days earlier in Serie A away at Monza if the Rossoneri progress to the Coppa Italia quarterfinals.
Reaching the 249 mark like Capello in this season seems impossible, however. In fact, currently, Milan will certainly play 24 more matches, which would become 35 if they reach both the Europa League and Coppa Italia finals (Pioli could manage a maximum of 246 matches, three short of Capello).
