AC Milan's Matteo Gabbia, who returned from his loan spell at Villarreal to reinforce the defensive department which has suffered a lot due to injuries, left the pitch in the first half after a heavy collision with Atalanta's Marten De Roon.
The Italian centre-back was replaced by Simon Kjaer in the 36th minute of the first half.
The head-to-head collision was severe, forcing the player to leave the field, but it's not a muscular injury, so the risk of a long-term setback for the 24-year-old, Matteo Gabbia, is ruled out, as pointed out by the Italian website Calciomercato.com.
