Giuseppe Sala, Mayor of Milan, has no intention of giving up: with the project to redesign the San Siro stadium, he wants to try to persuade AC Milan and Inter Milan to set aside the idea of building a new stadium and instead continue to play, even in the future, in the same facility.

This is despite AC Milan making giant strides in the construction project of its new all-red stadium in San Donato Milanese (recently, the club purchased the land of the San Francesco area where the new facility is expected to be built) and also despite Inter Milan aiming to do something in the Assago-Rozzano area.

According to Corriere della Sera - Milan edition today, mayor Sala will meet with AC Milan and Inter Milan in the coming week at the Municipality.

The Mayor of Milan, in fact, wants to know the definitive ideas of the two clubs and understand if there might be interest in the San Siro redesign plan presented a few days ago to the Municipal Administration. For Sala, the final word has not yet been spoken.

"I believe it is still a largely open game, in these years we have seen everything. Did AC Milan purchase the land in San Donato? It's a step forward (for AC Milan), but I continue to be confident and to maintain dialogue with the clubs. If I didn't see potential for San Siro on their part, I would look for other solutions, but I think they still have it. Contacts with the two teams are ongoing. AC Milan is certainly ahead, but we have already said this. However, I believe the game is still open," concluded Giuseppe Sala, as relayed by Pianeta Milan.
