AC Milan failed to obtain the three points against Atalanta last night at the San Siro, despite Rafael Leao's strong performance and goal.

The Corriere della Sera newspaper uses a very fitting adjective to describe Rafael Leao's work last night: "dazzling". The Portuguese, after the criticism received throughout the season and after Milan's difficult week with defeats against Monza and Rennes, shoulders his team and after three minutes puts them ahead with a wonderful goal.

But he doesn't stop there, throughout the game, he is a thorn in Gasperini's defence, which never manages to contain him properly. It's a real shame that a performance like yesterday's didn't yield three points.

Therefore, Milan will have to force themselves to see the glass half full: an excellent performance and above all a good reaction after two consecutive defeats where the Rossoneri didn't offer a great spectacle.

Milan dominated, but...

Stefano Pioli attacked yesterday, in every sense. The Milan coach deserves credit for preparing a game in which he completely neutralised Atalanta, who in the first half barely had 30% ball possession, only equalizing with a very questionable penalty and in the second half hardly ever leaving their own half.

Stefano Pioli fields a dominant Milan in terms of play and pace, only a bit of inaccuracy in the final third and a superb Carnesecchi deny victory to the Rossoneri team, who leaves the field with some regrets. But also with a fair amount of anger.

At the end of the match, in front of the microphones, AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli doesn't hesitate to criticise referee Orsato's actions for awarding a penalty 'below his usual standard of judgment'.

The former Fiorentina coach also accuses Holm, who was touched on the shoulder but blatantly simulates being touched on the face. And so Milan keeps Atalanta's comeback at bay but loses touch with Juventus who now leads by +4.
