Il Corriere dello Sport newspaper in this morning's print edition discusses Chukwueze's 'mystery'.
We read the following headline:
"The attacker, returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, has not yet convinced Pioli and the club."
Chukwueze was a significant investment from last summer's transfer window. Christian Pulisic, however, showed much more consistency in performance and quality than the Nigerian right-winger.
The result today is that the Nigerian's tally at the beginning of March in his first year at Milan is two goals in the Champions League and zero in all other competitions.
A bit low considering the expectations. Last year he was one of the best players in La Liga, this year he fails to make a difference, and even the experience in the Africa Cup of Nations doesn't seem to have shaken him. It remains a mystery.
