Gazzetta: AC Milan plan to reinforce the defence – 48 goals conceded already this season

In view of AC Milan's upcoming summer transfer market, there is much talk about a significant investment in attack, but the number of goals conceded makes it necessary to strengthen the defence as well: 48 goals conceded, 32 of which in the league, are a disastrous figure behind which there are various reasons such as the "no longer phenomenal" performance of Mike Maignan, in addition to the many injuries that have affected the Rossoneri's defensive department this season and too many technical and attention errors.

This morning, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Simon Kjaer's contract is expiring and will not be renewed. Pierre Kalulu is also on the fence, having played little this year due to a serious injury: his performance so far has not been like that in the championship-winning year, so he is not among the untouchables.

More secure in a place in the squad for the next season are Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori, unless irresistible offers arrive.

But who could arrive at Milanello to strengthen the Rossoneri's defence? There are several names, and among them is certainly Lilian Brassier, a 24-year-old center-back from Brest whom Milan tried to sign in January.

In the January transfer window, the French club was asking for 10-12 million euros, a figure that could see a discount in the summer since the player's contract expires in 2025.

In the AC Milan club managers' list, there are also two other profiles that have been followed for some time: Maxence Lacroix, a 2000-born center-back from Wolfsburg (his contract also expires in 2025), and Tosin Adarabioyo, who currently plays for Fulham but will be a free agent in the summer, as relayed via Milan News.
