Milan were able to grab a crucial 0-2 win from Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi against a tough Hellas Verona who made a draw against Juventus lately and won over Atalanta and Napoli as well. Milan started this match with confidence and ability to win most duels.
Even though Tomori made an error at the 8th minute when he tried to pass the ball back to Donnarumma, risking Lasagna's interception, the team were able to overcome that mistake and have more possession thanks mainly to Kessié, Meïté and Krunić's movements in midfield.
Rafael Leão then did not exploit Calabria's cross in the best of ways at the 14th minute by shooting it outside the goal, and wasting a very good opportunity.
A few minutes later, Krunić was able to win a free-kick in a dangerous position after he was able to make a passing combination with Meite and try to advance towards the box. And the same player was able to score an excellent free-kick put on the right angle in a place that Verona's goalkeeper was not able to reach.
Later on in the first-half, both Leão and Meïté missed two other goalscoring chances at the 31st and the 33rd minutes, respectively. And then Milan were able to stop Verona's discrete attempts and finished the first-half with a 0-1 advantage.
In the second-half, Milan started with the same concentration and determination and were able to add the second goal at the 49th minute thanks to Diogo Dalot's penetration and Leão's body feint that allowed Dalot to escape his markers, advance and score the second goal with a powerful shot.
Milan then were able to keep control of the match while economising their energies and preventing Verona from scoring.
Dimarco was able to shoot at the 76, and Ceccherini was able to direct a powerful header towards Milan's goal, however, both shots were a bit away from Donnarumma's goal.
And at last, Salcedo also hit a desperate shot at the 82th minute that went away from the goal.
And then, Milan were able to conserve their 0-2 lead until the end of the match. And this gave Milan 3 valuable points despite the numerous absences in the squad.
