Divock Origi, after a very disappointing first season at AC Milan, decided last summer to return to playing in the Premier League to try and find himself again there, where he did shine with Liverpool in the past.
Unfortunately, things did not go as he and the Rossoneri club had hoped: the Belgian forward, on loan with an option to buy at Nottingham Forest, ended his season with zero goals scored in the league.
His only goal of the season came in the FA Cup against Bristol City, a team that plays in the EFL Championship. His fate seems to be already decided: the former Liverpool player will return to Milanello, awaiting to find a new destination as there will be no space for him in the Rossoneri squad for the next season, as relayed via Milan News.
Origi, who is 29 years old, played an overall of just 754 minutes spread across 22 matches in the Premier League and FA Cup. Besides the goal scored in the cup, he only managed to provide one assist in the league. The former Lille player's contract with Milan runs until the summer of 2026.
