This morning Tuttosport tried to provide an update on the situation regarding Theo Hernandez's contract renewal.
The player, along with his compatriot Mike Maignan, will be out of contract in 2026. On paper, Milan has all the time in the world, but in the club, they've seen a lot in recent years and are aware that in this respect, one can never be too sure, especially when it comes to top players.
There have already been meetings with the respective entourages of both the fullback and the goalkeeper over the past year, but they haven't moved things much. Regarding Hernandez, it is reported that the player was disappointed that he did not receive a proposal from Milan at the end of this season. This is probably because Milan is doing their calculations.
As reported, Theo Hernandez desires to be compensated as a top player in his position by Milan after five years at the highest levels. Currently, the Frenchman earns 5 million euros net and has, through his agents, made a request for a 10 million salary. A figure that currently, considering also the highest salary on the team held by Leao, seems completely out of scale for the Rossoneri club.
The feeling, given Theo's love for Milan and the city where he feels very comfortable, is that the player might accept a proposal of 7-7.5 million euros plus bonuses. At the moment, the Frenchman is busy at the European Championship in Germany, and updates and news in this regard are expected only after the continental competition.
In the background, the possibility of leaving currently remains remote, also due to the 100 million euros request from the Rossoneri, which seems to have deterred Bayern and Real, the most likely suitors. The certainty is that Milan will have to make the first move.
