Tijjani Reijnders, AC Milan midfielder and the Dutch national team, celebrates the qualification for the round of 16 at Euro 2024 after beating Romania 0-3 while delivering a very strong performance (read here).
Here are his words to UEFA's microphones, as relayed via Milan News:
"I think we redeemed ourselves from the last match (the one against Austria) and showed what we really are. We talked in the locker room and today we wanted to show the level we can reach. It was a demonstration of what we can do."
Reijnders continued:
"We played with an extra midfielder because our right winger moved inside, and we tried to find passes between the lines. I think we did a good job, with the midfield and also with our central defenders. My performance? This is what I like to do, running forward with the ball and to shoot. But next time, I need to score... I am a box-to-box player: sometimes I carry the ball, other times I put our forwards in the right position. This is how I can help the team."
