Diogo Dalot gave an interview to Record, in which he spoke about his experience so far with the Rossoneri, Manchester United and much more. Here are his words:
"I had the opportunity to play for three big clubs so far. They all had world class and reference players. It can only be a motivation for me. There is no pressure or worry. To have past legends as references is fantastic."
"Being a part of Milan's rebirth is one of the points that attracted me about this move. I have always wanted to be part of a historically very strong team, my thoughts are on what is happening currently and nothing else. Football can change quickly."
"During my career so far, I have played many positions. It is good for a coach to have a player who is versatile. I try to give my best whether I'm playing as a left-back, right-back or even goalkeeper. It is important to be very good in one position and also be able to play different roles."
"Scudetto fight with Ibrahimovic? I think it's a common goal to everyone. Logically, he is more used to winning trophies than the rest of the group. He is a reference point for us in the locker room. We all share the desire to win. However, we are aware that it is difficult. There are other teams that have won a lot and they are also strong. We have quality, we are strong and we have shown it. Now we only think game by game and we concentrate on moving forward."
"The dressing room is fantastic, it affected me positively. There is this balance between experience and youth. I have the opportunity to share a dressing room with many players of my generation, others a little older but relatively close to mine. This helps. I don't want to say it's perfect, but it's a very appropriate balance for what we need and want to have. It's great and it surprised me."
"Leao? Having someone that I have known since I was 15 is great. It makes the integration easier, it's an advantage. Rafa helped me a lot in so many ways, it was nice to have someone. It is also a sign that Portuguese players are showing that they can be at the top."
"Being coached by Pioli in Italy? Football here in Italy is defensive and tactical. Playing here helps me a lot to have balance and to be more complete. Coach Stefano Pioli is fundamental for the team for the way he interacts with players."
"Maldini? He represents everything about AC Milan. He has an important role within the club now after he has ended his career. He has passion and the desire to bring this club back at the top where it deserves to be. He knows that this vision will take time to achieve, but we feel that we are on the right track now."
"Playing with Ibrahimovic? I've been with people who were with him at United. The year I came to Manchester is when he went to the United States. I was always sorry not to have met him at United. It was a very positive experience here. a person who has a strong personality, but it's nice to share the locker room with him, because you can be both a demanding person when you have to train and play, and a fun person, a teammate who is there to help you and talk about things that It's not just about football. For a teammate, meeting him in person is fantastic. Without him, things would be a bit more difficult. Having him around makes everything easier. It was a nice surprise."
"Facing Juventus and Ronaldo next? I had the opportunity to meet Ronaldo this summer for the first time. He is a reference point. He's always been my idol. Sharing the pitch with him is every player's dream, it will be great if it happens. It would be something that I will remember."
"Why Milan? The reason was my conversation with Maldini. The club explained their project and showed that they really wanted me, which was important. Another factor has to do with the team: there were so many young guys with the desire to win."
"The National Team has always been a dream of mine. I am ready to work as much as possible for the next training session and the next match. I know that if things go well and how I want, of course this can happen."
