Matteo Pessina is an Italian player that currently plays for Atalanta. He is 23 years old and occupies the position of attacking midfielder on the pitch. He was on loan from Atalanta last season at Hellas Verona where he showed good performances. AC Milan was reportedly interested in him in the previous mercato window.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan continues to be interested in the player as they monitor his progress with his club in Bergamo. The Rossoneri club is the former club of Pessina and before Milan let him go, the management ensured to have a special clause built inside the agreement with Atalanta.
In fact, Milan still have a clause in their hand which will discount his pricetag by 50% if Milan decide to sign him from Atalanta one day. It will be regularly valid also next summer, the duration is not limited and for this reason Milan managers are still attentive to the growth of Pessina. It is not a transfer move for January's transfer market. When there have been contacts with Atalanta in the last calendar year, Maldini and Massara have always expressed their appreciation for the midfielder.
