The awaited Serie A clash started with both clubs AC Milan and Juventus suffering absences with the Rossoneri squad having more players missing than the Bianconeri.

Milan started with the following lineup using a 4-2-3-1 formation: Donnarumma; Dalot, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Theo; Calabria, Kessie; Castillejo, Çalhanoglu, Hauge; Leao

Juventus started with a 4-4-2 formation of: Szczęsny; Danilo, Bonucci, De Ligt, Frabotta; Chiesa, Bentancur, Rabiot, Ramsey; Dybala, Ronaldo.

The encounter started with a shot at the first minute from Dybala that Donnarumma stopped easily. Shortly after, Rafael Leao responded with a shot of his own that was out of target. The Rossoneri continued to press highly and Castillejo had a scoring chance, but Szczęsny saved it and pushes it to a corner.

At the 15th minute Chiesa hit the post with a powerful volley shot and Juventus started to advance more and more in the field while The Rossoneri squad tried to defend and keep the Bianconeri out. Then after minutes of high pressing, Chiesa scores the first goal after an assist from Dybala.

At the 40th minute, a counter-attack is launched with Calhanoglu recovering the ball from Rabiot, sends it to Hauge whom in turn passes it to Leao. The portuguese striker, uses his speed and vision to advance forward and cuts it back to Calabria who does not hesitate to shoot a well placed ball that Szczęsny could not have seen coming. Shortly after, the referee blows the end of the first half-time: score 1-1.

Second half starts with Milan taking the intiative to attack Juventus defenses with a few attempts, and Juventus responding later with pressing of their own and maintaining possession of the ball. Dybala, once more passes to Chiesa who shoots in the lower right side of Donnarumma, he scores the 2nd goal. Juventus lead at the 61st minute 1-2.

Juventus later keep holding with Milan trying a few timid chances to score. At the 76th minute, Mckennie scores the third, and the game was basically over since then.

The match ends with the Diavoli losing 1-3 against the Old Lady from Turin. Milan‘s unbeaten run in the Serie A comes to an end. However, Pioli‘s men remain first in the league thanks to Sampdoria beating Inter 2-1.

AC Milan has nothing to be ashamed of, losing to Juventus while missing many key players from the starting lineup. The next game for the Rossoneri is at the San Siro against Marco Giampaolo’s Torino.
