AC Milan suffers many absences from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Matteo Gabbia, passing by Alexis Saelemaekers and Ismael Bennacer to Sandro Tonali up until the recent COVID-19 positivity of Bosnian midfielder Rade Krunic and Croatian left winger Ante Rebic.
These absences, which are due to injuries, match suspension, and coronavirus, make life difficult for Stefano Pioli and his coaching staff and collaborators. This has led to the decision to call youngster Marco Romano Frigerio. He is a 19 year-old central midfielder, turning 20 in July 16.
It remains to be seen if young midfielder Frigerio, class of 2001 would play as we have explained the likely solutions that coach Stefano Pioli could use for the game, which you can read here. However, it is certainly a great milestone for the youngster and it should be a remarkable achievement to be called up and sitting in the bench for such an important Serie A game. In fact, Frigerio has under his belt 50 appearances with the Primavera squad under Federico Giunti's guidance. In these games, he has registered 3 goals from centre-midfield position.
