Today is finally the day of the arrival of Fikayo Tomori, the reinforcement chosen by Maldini and Massara for the defense: the young English central defender will land in Milan in the next few hours and will immediately undergo the usual medical examinations because the aim of coach Pioli and the club is to bring him on the bench as early as tomorrow night against Atalanta.
La Gazzetta dello Sport, that the definitive go-ahead for Tomori arrived yesterday after dinner time: the agreement between Milan and Chelsea was found on the basis of a loan worth €1 million with the buy-option set at €25 million.
The AC Milan coach will thus have his reinforcement also in defense after the insertions in midfield by Meité and in attack by Mandzukic. Tomori was already in the sights of Milan in the summer, but for Chelsea, he was not transferable. But now things have changed: the coach Lampard, despite esteeming him a lot, practically never let him play and so the English defender to ask to be allowed to leave.
The long-awaited white smoke has finally arrived and Tomori will now have a few months to convince the club to activate his buy-option.
