Guest at Che Tempo Che Fa, on Rai, the legend of Milan, Franco Baresi , spoke about his past, recalling the rivalry with his brother Giuseppe and the two greats who died in 2020, Maradona and Paolo Rossi. Here are the legendary captain's words:
"The rivalry with my brother? There has never been competition between the two of us. We trained together even though he was two years younger. We went together and returned together. It was the 60s, we had little at home, only the essentials. The ball was an outlet for us, it was happiness."
On the memory of Maradona:
"Only Diego could take my shirt home", said Baresi while being moved after seeing a video of Maradona leaving with his shirt after the AC Milan defender's farewell game.
On Paolo Rossi:
"I got to have him as a partner at Milan and in the national team. An extraordinary experience. A boy who is difficult to find nowadays, always smiling, he was splendid."
