During an interview given to the well-known French magazine France Football, the mother of ex-Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta has revealed PSG's interest on the 23-year-old last summer before he eventually joined Ligue 1 side Lyon, as Les Parisiens were led by club's sporting director Leonardo, who was the first to bring his compatriot to Europe.
“Leonardo called us (this summer), but he wanted to sign him until the winter transfer window (January 2021). Lucas didn't want to wait for another six months…” confessed the mother of the former Flamengo player.
Actually, PSG wanted to recruit Paqueta even before he joined AC Milan in January 2019, when they had to compete with Leonardo himself, who then ended up winning the transfer battle back as AC Milan's sporting director.
“We discussed with Antero Henrique. There was also FC Barcelona who wanted him. In fact, it was to be played between the two clubs and then Leonardo entered the scene.” declared the Brazilian's mother.
