Another month begins and, for the AC Milan Women’s team February is set to be a busy one, with 3 important matches. Luckily, two of them in their homeground
For starters, it’s important to keep in mind that the Women’s Serie A is a 12-club league, and therefore, there is a larger gap between the matchdays. For example, the last league game for the rossonere were against Florentia on January 24.
This Sunday, February 6, at 12:30 pm CET, Milan will host San Marino Academy at the Vismara for the matchday 13 of Serie A. It will be the second time they ever face each other, and Milan trashed the titane 5-0 in matchday 2 this season, with Dowie and Grimshaw both scoring braces and Agard finding the back of the net from a well delivered free kick.
After that, it’s time for the Coppa Italia quarterfinal match against Sassuolo. Even if we take into account that the draw in the first league gives the rossonere the advantage of the away goal (a goaless draw is enough for the to go trhough the semifinals), it goes without saying that another lackluster performance like they had in the second half, dropping deep and failing to capitalize chances, which eventually can see the AC Milan Women’s team eliminated from yet another tournament, can put in jeopardy the wining atmosphere that surround them now. The game will take place on Saturday, February 13, at 2:30 pm CET, at the Vismara.
Finally, on Saturday, February 27, still no time, Milan travels to face Pink Bari for the Serie A matchday 14. The diavolesse have won all of the 4 clashes between them, scoring 23 goals and conceding only 4. This season, on matchday 3, Natasha Dowie and a double from Valentina Giacinti responded to Francesca Soro, granting the rossonere their third win in a row.
Busy month, important games and one of this season’s goals at stake. Godspeed, rossonere!
