Ibrahimovic-Lukaku fight. What the players risk

Ibrahimovic and Lukaku are still the talk of the day in today's newspapers as multiple reports suggest that they can be punished.

The prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné opened the proceedings yesterday morning and as a first move he decided to summon the referee Paolo Valeri. He will be heard to clarify "the scope of the penalties" already given to the players during the derby. This is a preliminary step to understand which sentences he has heard, so as not to judge the same facts twice.

The Sporting Judge has already disqualified Ibrahimovic and Lukaku for one matchday each in the Italian Cup competition. But the Federal Prosecutor's Office wants to understand from Valeri if the yellow cards that he has given are also the result of the offensive sentences spoken in a foreign language that the two have addressed or only for the tough face to face clash.

The newspaper Tuttosport explains that profanity could fall under article 4 of the Sports Justice Code which punishes conduct contrary to loyalty, correctness and sporting probity. To understand if Zlatan's phrase on " voodoo" will be considered a violation of art. 28 on " discriminatory behavior " (which also includes timed disqualifications among the sanctions) or if it is "only" of "seriously unsportsmanlike conduct".

According to Corriere dello Sport , Ibrahimovic would risk 10 days of disqualification in the Italian Cup or a timed disciplinary sanction if the Federal Prosecutor considers the expression used discriminatory. Both the Swede and Milan have taken a clear stance on the subject, denying any discriminatory intent in the player's words.

The words spoken by Lukaku are also heavy, including a "I'll shoot you". According to Corriere della Sera, both forwards risk being disqualified. Soon, the prosecutor Chiné will comment on the matter.
