Thiago Silva, as well as Edinson Cavani, left Paris Saint-Germain after last year's Champions League final. It was a farewell for two symbols of the Parisian club. They left the club as free agents as their contracts expired and were not offered renewal deals.
Ex AC Milan defender, Brazilian 36 year-old Thiago Silva, after several months, does not forget. He spoke on his situation and the treatment he received at the French club by saying the following in an interview with Four Four Two:
"They didn't even offer me a renewal. They did not even say 'Will you accept 1 euro to stay with us?'. It was devastating. They had three months to plan everything, with the pandemic in between, but they did nothing. I was the captain for eight years, not one who played a single season, and I won many trophies. I deserved more respect and the same thing had happened to Edinson Cavani."
