Mohamed Simakan was linked with AC Milan in the Summer's mercato until the very last few hours. The deal was reportedly close to being done.
In the previous January mercato session, the 20 year-old French central-defender was again linked with a move to the Rossoneri. However, and unfortunately for him, he picked up an injury that left him on the sidelines for his club RC Strasbourg for a while. Milan managers, then, had to shift their attention elsewhere and that's when Fikayo Tomori's name emerged. Eventually, Milan signed the 23 year-old English centre-back from Chelsea on loan until the end of the season with the right to exercise a buy-option.
Now, it seems that the French defender is out of AC Milan's reach. In fact, Mohamed Simakan signed with RB Leipzig. a club that was also keen on securing his services. The young talent will join the Bundesliga side in the summer, as reported by RMC Sport.
