Few hours before the kick-off of Red Star Belgrade versus AC Milan, the Serbian coach Dejan Stankovic presented himself to Sky's microphones to have his say on the Europa League match and the derby on Sunday afternoon.
On playing the Europa League against Milan
"We know well, at least I know well, the history of the Red Star and Milan, a club of the highest level in every respect, with 7 Champions league trophies. Both clubs know what it means to play in Europe. Last year at the end of the season they showed things that promised a better future and this year they are showing it. Mister Pioli is doing a great job, the team follows him and believes in it, and the club too is showing all its value. I arrived a year ago and we managed to change quite a lot, we included a lot of young players, we won the championship last year and this year we are doing a good run so far, we are first with nine points clear of the second. We have a very specific mentality, we work hard and the results are what make the end product."
On facing the Rossoneri players:
"We have nothing to lose, we made a good result in the group and our progress is already making us happy. Without pressure, we have the opportunity to play against a first / second team in their league."
On Ibrahimovic:
"He doesn't surprise me at all because I know him. I know his mentality, the harder he is, the more he exalts himself. The more they say he can't do it, the more he proves his worth and I'm happy for him. When he trains well, he runs well. Milan have my derby on Thursday with the Red Star, then I will cheer for Inter on Sunday of course."
On the derby:
"Inter are doing a good season in the league. Antonio Conte is preparing the game for Sunday. In my opinion he has a great advantage. I think it really all depends on Inter this year. Me? I am back in my club, in my country and I am really very happy. In the future we will see what will happen."
