The Italy National team are through the UEFA Women's Euro 2022 after pulling an astonishing performance, beating Israel 12-0, ensuring qualification as a best runner-up in Group B, with 25 points.
Among the four AC Milan players called-up by Milena Bertolini, Valentina Bergamaschi and Valentina Giacinti were in the starting XI, while Laura Fusetti and Linda Tucceri-Cimini remained on the bench. Bergamaschi played a solid game for 58 minutes as a right fullback in Bertolini’s 4-3-3, providing even an assist to Giacinti who, deployed as a right winger, had a fantastic match and bagged a brace until she was forced to leave the pitch at the minute 70 due to an injury.
The severity of the injury is yet to be determined, but after the game, Giacinti asserted that she doesn’t believe it’s serious. It is worth mentioning that AC Milan faces Pink Bari this weekend and Giacinti is a key player to the rossonere.
