Gianluigi Donnarumma's contract renewal has been going on for some time now with newspapers claiming that the club are trying to secure a renewal but a deal is never easy to make especially with a difficult agent like Mino Raiola.
Actually, the latest news from Gazzetta claim that the Rossoneri received a counter offer from the goalkeeper's agent which is unacceptable: basically a short-term renewal.
Discussing the young goalkeeper, who turns 22 today, transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio spoke to Sky Sport about the matter. Here are his words:
"There are exceptions that inevitably have to be made for technical value but also because Donnarumma's contract is about to expire. I know that Milan are actually offering him more than he earns currently and I know that the Covid-19 period affects but if he were to leave the Rossoneri, then the club should find a replacement by spending on the transfer market. Milan must make an exception for a player of this value."
