AC Milan Scottish midfielder Christy Grimshaw spoke to the Milan TV microphones and shared some interesting thoughts regarding the Women's team facilities, getting revenge on Juventus clash and much more.
Here her words:
On the season so far:
"We’re in great streak, we have only lost one league game so far, so it’s a great place to be and I think it’s been very successful several months."
On her time in Italy:
"Scotland is home, but in Italy we got the weather. I was not able to really see much because of Covid-19 right now but it’s really beautiful place."
On AC Milan training facilities and staff:
"I think the facilities, the professionalism, and the organization of the women’s first team is one of the best, I think, in Europe in the Women’s football and you obviously have expectations, you’re not sure what to expect before you came places, but AC Milan has a very good setup here and I’m enjoying it."
On the numerous cultures in the locker room:
"There is a lot of different cultures and obviously when we go on the pitch, we are just professionals and we all know that we all have on ambition in mind and that’s a common ambition that we have to win games, so we forget all differences and we are united on the pitch."
On Mister Ganz and his passionate coaching style:
"Mister Ganz obviously wants the best of us, and he is very, very passionate and he has played football, he is an expert and I think so. He really pushes us all to pass our limits and I really respect that because he loves the game and he makes us love the game also."
On the competition among the midfielders:
"I think that it’s great that we have such a diverse midfield, and been a midfielder, on the pitch, we learn from each other, we all bring something a little bit different, we have lots of experiences, especially the new girls who just came in as well, and we push each other in training and we all want to fight for our places, the competition is great."
On the Juventus clash:
"Juve-Milan gonna be a huge game, I can’t wait to play it obviously they just beat us in San Siro, so we have to get revenge basically. We prepare by just focus on ourselves. We’re not thinking to much ahead, but next week obviously we have a game and after that we have Juventus so, we just focus on that, we focus on ourselves and thinking how we can take the game to them, basically."
Playing in the San Siro:
"San Siro is a beautiful, magnificent stadium. Despite the defeat it’s still an amazing moment for women’s football, for women’s football in Italy was historic. It’s a beautiful pitch and the atmosphere was amazing."
On the expectations and goals for this season:
"We want to win something, get Champions League football next season, that’s a must, and yeah, just have a really successful season for the club."
