Chelsea Reporter Adam Newson was interviewed exclusively by MilanNews.it about the performance of Fikayo Tomori since his arrival on loan from Chelsea to Milan.
Did you expect such an impact from Tomori at Milan?
"Tomori has the qualities to play for Milan there was never a doubt but the speed at which he became a starter for the Rossoneri was surprising even at the expense of Milan captain Romagnoli. His pace in recoveries will always be appreciated, considering that most of the big teams play with the high line. Tomori's ability with the ball at his feet is excellent and with time he will only grow more".
Did Chelsea make a mistake in letting the defender leave?
"I think Chelsea have made a mistake by inserting a clause that allows Milan to sign Tomori at the end of the season because the defender has great skills perfectly suited for Tuchel's three-man defense. However, the Blues have other talented young central like Marc Guehi, which might have to influence Chelsea to let Tomori leave".
Do you think the Rossoneri can repeat the performance at Old Trafford?
"Milan can have a great performance as they did at Old Trafford although Manchester United have lots of quality nothing is stoping the Rossoneri from qualifying at San Siro".
Do you think Tomori is worth more than 28m euros?
"The 28 million euros price tag for the defender is quite small, he is only 23, he is already an English international and can only improve with experience. His performances so far have been impressive and I understand why Maldini wants to redeem him. moreover, if Tomori stayed with the Rossoneri and plays regularly at a good level, in a couple of years he would attract the interests of the Premier League and so Milan could sell him for a much higher amount than what they paid for him".
