In the last few days, the Portuguese outlet Record has linked Benfica's Uruguayan sensation Darwin Nunez with a move to AC Milan ahead of the next summer transfer window, as the Rossoneri are looking to strengthen their front-line despite intentions to renew veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
According to the latest informations provided by Il Corriere dello Sport, the Milanese club could be having an ace up their sleeve on this deal, as the transfer of the 21-year-old frontman to the Serie A side might be facilitated thanks to former Milan legend Rui Costa, who is currently acting as the sporting director of the Eagles; especially with the presence of Milan's technical director Paolo Maldini, whose path crossed with the Portuguese in Milanello between 2001 and 2006.
Yet, the initial request of Benfica worth 50 million euros is considered as the main problem for the Italian club, but there would be ample room for negotiation, as reported by the same source.
