AC Milan striker Mario Mandzukic is still unavailable for the Rossoneri due to an injury that is taking longer than usual to heal, the Croatian is hoping to get back on the field as soon as possible for the final matches of the season which will be decisive for his future with Milan Tuttosport writes.
A qualification to the Champions League does not guarantee an automatic contract renewal for Mario as the final decision is still up to Milan although in the contract signed in January there is a renewal clause that can be exercised should the Rossoneri qualify for the top competition.
Mandzukic will have to show Milan that they can rely on him when he returns from injury and based on those performances, technical directors Maldini and Massara together with coach Stefano Pioli will evaluate the forward to see if he is worthy of an extension. The Croatian will have to play well in the last months of the Championships.
