Sweden International Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reported to be one step away from renewing his contract with AC Milan, as his agreement is due to expire at the end of the season.
Even though, the Rossoneri's management are reportedly still looking for a new striker to alternate with their veteran frontman ahead of the next summer transfer window, with the 39-year-old not being able to play twice a week.
According to what was reported by Milannews.it, there are ongoing reflections on a purchase in that department, but it will depend a lot on market opportunities. If there will be strikers with low wages and an affordable price tag, then Milan will be ready.
For now, the Milanese club is currently monitoring 2 Serie A strikers, namely Dusan Vlahovic as well as Andrea Belotti, for the abovementioned role. In fact, the Italian, whose contract with Torino is expiring in June 2022, could be sold for an affordable price should he end up rejecting his club's renewal proposals. As for the Serbian, he is apparently harder to get, as Fiorentina's club president Rocco Commisso does not seem to give up on his forward for anything less than 40 million euros, as reported by the same source.
Furthermore, Milan could also opt for another option, which is coming by players from abroad, who are young, not yet fully established but who have great potential.
