Atalanta's technical director Giovanni Sartori has spoken about Milan's interest on club's star forward Josip Ilicic, as well as the Rossoneri's midfielder Franck Kessie, and academy product Matteo Pessina. Here are his statements:
On Kessie:
“We saw him because he had won the U17 World Cup in Dubai. When in doubt we took it on loan for a year, they gave him to us with the right of redemption. He showed up on January 10 with flip-flops. The change in temperature was certainly traumatic”.
On Pessina:
“He could become a market player. He is doing a great championship, confirmed last year's great championship in Verona. He found a place under the striker that allows him to shoot and assist. He is versatile, he knows how to be great on the pitch. Atalanta will not be deprived [of players] so easily. If Atalanta will [sell in] the transfer market, they will only do it on one player”.
On Milan's interest in Ilicic:
“I have read, but we are not interested in this. It is news without any foundation”.
