AC Milan chairman Ivan Gazidis has spoken at the webinar of “Parole O_Stili“. Here are his statements:
On the impact of football:
“The issue we are addressing today is also fundamental for the world of football. Football reflects society’s problems but at the same time can have a positive impact for change. AC Milan’s adhesion to the Manifesto is a new step in the path of social responsibility that began a few years ago“.
On the objectives:
“We have a very clear vision and objectives on this issue. We promoted the RespAct manifesto to be more inclusive and tolerant. RespAct means above all concrete actions. Our manifesto has four areas of intervention: awareness, education, prevention and collaboration. There are problems of intolerance and racism in society, we all have forms of prejudice, sometimes we can make mistakes”.
On the fans:
“We must raise awareness among our fans with positive messages and fight all forms of discrimination without accusing or judging anyone but through reflection and sharing. As far as education is concerned, we believe it is essential to share the values of fairness, respect and inclusiveness with the new generations”.
On the project:
“Our project, All the colors of football, involves thousands of young people with the contribution of experts, together with the players of our teams and the management of the club. An important project that makes us proud, carried out by our CRS Team. Our club always invests in prevention, with technologies to identify violent and discriminatory behaviors both in physical and digital locations“.
On the social part:
“We collaborate with social platforms and institutions to mitigate possible negative episodes. With our actions we want to inspire the world of football, other clubs, institutions, the media. Only if we work together can we improve. Together with the Lega Serie A we launched a campaign against racism”.
On the inclusivity:
“We want to be inclusive. We have an agreement with the National Deaf Organization to make all our contents accessible, also for Mister Pioli’s conferences with simultaneous translation in sign language. In closing, I am happy to represent Milan and to carry forward a positive message, a path of growth and responsibility”.
