What an absolute belter of a game the Coppa Italia semifinal second leg was! In a six-goal game, thanks to Vero and Dowie, both with a brace, the AC Milan made it to the final after beating Internazionale 4-2 (5-4 on aggregate).
Here the player ratings:
Starting XI:
Korenčiová (6) – A good game for her. Can’t take the blame for the goals against.
Vitale (6) – Had an average game. Lost focus in the second half and got caught out of position a few times.
Agard (5,5) – Was having a fairly decent game until Marinelli’s goal, when she should have done a lot better.
Fusetti (6,5) – A good outing for her, though the whole defensive sector lost concentration during the second half.
Bergamaschi (7) – Good cross accuracy, solidity in the attacking phase, managed to added yet another assist to her name.
Jane (6,5) – Fifi was superb during before the halftime break. Much like her teammates, lost focus and were often out of position after it.
Vero (8) – The Spaniard could not have chosen a better time to score her first goal with the Milan shirt. Great technical skills
Hasegawa (7) – Yui, as usual, looked lively and created some decent chances for the others and herself. Helped a lot the team intercepting passes and getting the ball back over a dozen occasions.
Tucceri Cimini (7) - An impactful performance from Linda, especially in the first half. Got another assist by helping Dowie to find the net with an amazing and vicious cross.
Giacinti (6,5) – Good outing of the captain. Fought hard, motivated and protected the team. That chat with Pippo Inzaghi about dancing across the offside line could come in handy.
Dowie (8) – Like Vero, the Brit had the perfect timing to score for the first time in the Coppa Italia, grabbing also an assist to Vero’s second goal. Way to go, Tash.
Coach
Ganz (6) – Prepped the team well for the match, fielded his best players and got an almost-perfect first half. However, he seems not to be able to avoid them to lose focus during the second half and mismanage a game which seemed to be in control. Also, making substitutions is really not his strong point.
