AC Milan coach Maurizio Ganz and midfielder Verónica Boquete spoke to the Milan TV’s microphone after the win over Internazionale.
Here are their words:
Maurizio Ganz
On reaching the Coppa Italia final:
“I always want to thank not only the team but also all the staff, from those who work here at the locker room to the physiotherapists, doctors, to the secretaries, everyone and, you guys from the press. It was an immense joy, a joy that gets the entire club, the entire AC Milan to this final, so let's say we are even more proud.”
Roma on his mind already:
“For me it’s very difficult to be on the bench because I am always agitated, always want to participate, from the start to the final whistle, but it is just so amazing, they (the players) are really giving me great satisfaction, I mean, they are giving us satisfaction, the players deserve it. Now, I’m already thinking about the Roma game next weekend because we have other goals to achieve this season yet.”
On the team’s outing:
“Maybe in the first half the game looked a bit too easy, we scored two goals. So, in the second half slowed down a bit the tempo, reduced the intensity, we played more individually instead of building up faster, maybe this we lowered a little bit and ended up conceding the 2-1 to Inter, but I think the 4-2 is a great result, a deserved result after all.”
Veró
On making it to the final:
“I'm so happy, the whole team is really happy to have this opportunity, to play in the final, to be able to win a title for AC Milan. Today was a special game but now we have another match, another opportunity to do well.”
On scoring her first goals with AC Milan:
“Every game I tried to find the opportunity, it is off that I hadn’t scored yet, but today it was an important game and those are two important goals and for me, it’s always a satisfaction to help the team.”
On the team’s performances:
“I think throughout the year we have shown that we have great individuals and for the moment the team seems to be playing well, we’ve dominated most of the game and even if we’ve suffered a bit when they scored, it was also a show of the strength of the team, to keep going, to score those goals in the end, to win this game and make it to the final.”
On Gazidis’ presence:
“It's always wonderful when he comes, when someone from the management is close to the team, shows that the club has confidence in us and, as he said, it's the first final for AC Milan Women and we hope to win and to make it to so many more finals afterwards.”
