Shevchenko, AC Milan's iconic striker, gave an interview to La Repubblica's newspaper. Here are his words about the Rossoneri club and his future as a coach:
"Milan out of the Champions League for seven years? Ten years ago I would have said it was impossible, but many things have happened, starting with the sale by Silvio Berlusconi. I hope for the fans that the absence is over."
"If I talk about this with Maldini? We talk often. His work as a sports director is great. Competitiveness in Italian football is high: Inter made the difference also because Juventus dropped. It is a very balanced championship. They are cycles. Of course, the economic weight of the Premier League is higher. But if you have less money, you compensate with the working methodology, with the experience. I consider Serie A an exceptional laboratory."
On coaching a club:
"Yes. I have fun, and I need energy. Don't ask me where. But, I would like a club with an international standing."
On the super league:
"This is how football is destroyed. I did not understand the formula created."
