Former Milan target Florian Thauvin made his transfer official today to Mexican club Tigres. The 28-year-old Frenchman will be signing a 5 year deal on a free transfer. It was rumored all season that the winger was disgruntled with his club, and was looking to depart, but not many expected him to be making the jump to Mexico.
Marseille had struggled for a majority of the season, but hired new manager Jorge Sampaoli in early March, and have only suffered one defeat under his charge. Some were hopeful that it could convince Thauvin to renew, but his mind was already made up. He will be reuniting with former teammate Andre-Pierre Gignac at Tigres.
Thauvin was being monitored closely by Milan throughout most of the season as a reinforcement to the right attack. The winger was also followed by several Premier League clubs.
