In the winter transfer market, AC Milan management moved to sign three players which did not cost much, two were on loan: Soualiho Meité from Torino and Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea, while the other was a free agent: Mario Mandzukic.
The former Juventus man was regarded as the alternative to Zlatan Ibrahimovic given his experience, quality and technique. Alas, the expectations were not met as the player struggled to earn himself an important role in the squad as he did not manage to show his skills.
The player signed a 6-month contract upon his arrival with the club which gives room for the Rossoneri management to evaluate his spell at the club and then decide whether to renew him or not.
According to what is reported by Corriere della Sera, Mandzukic has already known that he has to pack his bags at the end of the season. He will evaluate other proposals, while Milan are already working in recent weeks to bring a younger and more reliable center forward.
