As reported by Calciomercato, Milan are looking to sort through the challenging renewals of Calhanoglu and Donnarumma, then they will decide on an extension for manager Stefano Pioli. Many doubted the guidance of Pioli after his rocky start, but he has finally returned Milan to the Champions League after 7 seasons. Pioli was given a two year contract extension in July, but now the management looks to extend their manager even longer after his success this season.
Maldini and Massara are looking for long term continuity in their current project, and having security in the manager is a large part of that goal. Management had confirmed before the Atalanta match that Pioli would be returning for next season, but now Pioli will look to reap the benefits of his successful final match and bid to the Champions League.
