As reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Memphis Depay is nearing a move to Barcelona, whether they choose to keep their manager Koeman or not. Depay's contract wraps up with Lyon on June 30, and it is expected that the Dutch forward will be making the move to La Liga. Milan fans felt hopeful of the Depay profile after Aguero announced he would be moving to Barca, but the Catalonian club was keen to add both players to the squad.
Depay has a solid relationship with manager Ronald Koeman, as he is also the Netherlands manager. Some assumed that if Koeman were to move on from Barca, which is certainly a possibility, Depay would no longer be interested in the move. Reports suggest this is not the case, however, as he is expected in Barcelona regardless of Koeman's future.
The Memphis Depay profile was certainly an intriguing one for the Rossoneri. The Dutchman was coming off of a 20 goal season, and at the ripe age of 27, he would have been a great addition to the front line in need of goal production. Depay will be moving on to one of Europe's giant clubs however, so Milan will have to keep their search going for a new reinforcement to the attack.
