AC Milan Women midfielder Christy Grimshaw, in the light of her contract renewal for another season as a rossonera, spoke to the Milan TV’s microphone about extending her stay at the Club, expectations for the Coppa Italia final against Roma and much more.

Here are her words:

On her renewal:

“I feel very good, happy, I’m excited to be here for another year. I think we're going to do great things.”

On this season:

“I think it's been a very successful one. Difficult, obviously, just due to the pandemic and everything, but we’ve achieved what we wanted to achieve so far, and it’s still not finished yet, so we'll see.”

On being on the pitch:

“If I'm playing, I'm happy, so, I’ll do anything for the team. I don't think you want to see me between the posts, though! Every game has been a must win, very competitive, so I think, obviously excitement, competitiveness to win every game and obviously be on the pitch and fight.”

On playing the Champions League next season:

“The Champions League is where all the best teams in the world play, so it's going to be very very difficult, but we deserve to be there, and I think that will put everything we can into winning each game and, obviously we got a playoff first, so we need to win that first.”

On the Coppa Italia final against Roma this Sunday:

“We're very excited, it's gonna be a very big game for us and, hopefully, we’ll win our first trophy. Roma are a very very strong side but also so are we so, we just go out there and work harder than them, do everything we can so I think it’s gonna be a very successful day for us.”

On Serie A’s growth in the last years:

“I think Serie A is becoming one of the like really big leagues. I think it's attracting, obviously, bigger players each season we need to do that, obviously, to become better and each club is become better and bigger.”

A message to young female players out there:

“Always work hard, believe in yourself, be confident and find your inner motivation to always be the best on the pitch”.
